Listen to Any Audio

Documentation

Listen to Any Audio is a remote MCP connector. It gives Claude tools that listen to podcast episodes, lectures, meetings, interviews and other recordings, and answer questions about what is said, with timestamps. Speech is transcribed by Google's Gemini model on our servers; nothing is installed on your computer. For a short file you attach in Claude, Claude may transcribe it in its own workspace first; use this connector for podcasts and long recordings, or when that doesn't work.

Set up

Connector address: https://listentoanyaudio.com/api/mcp. You sign in once with an email and password or a Google account.

Tools

All tools are read-only: they read a recording or your usage and return text. None of them changes anything in your accounts.

listen_audio (url or upload_id, question (optional))
Listens to a podcast episode, an audio or video file link, or an uploaded file, and answers the question with timestamps and quotes, or summarises the recording if there is no question. Recordings up to about 40 minutes usually answer straight away; longer ones return a job_id.
find_episode (query, show (optional))
Searches podcasts by name and lists a show's recent episodes with their links, so you can name a show instead of finding a link.
upload_audio (none)
Returns a private upload link for a file on your device. Open it, drop the file, then tell Claude it's done.
check_job (job_id)
Returns the answer for a longer recording that listen_audio is still processing.
ask_audio (audio_id, question)
Answers a follow-up question about a recording already heard, from its timestamped transcript. It takes a few seconds and uses no minutes. Ask for “the full transcript” to get it verbatim.
my_usage (none)
Shows which account is signed in, its plan, and the minutes of audio used this month.
whoami (none)
Shows which account the connector is signed in with. Useful to check the connection.

Privacy

Uploaded files are deleted as soon as they have been transcribed, or after 24 hours. Transcripts of your uploads and links, your questions and the answers are kept for 30 days so you can ask follow-ups. Transcripts of public podcast episodes are shared between users for 30 days, without any link to who asked. The connector does not read your conversations, memory or files; it only receives the link or upload id and the question Claude sends to a tool. Full details: privacy policy.
